First records for Nigeria.

MATERIAL EXAMINED. NIGERIA: • Lagos, Kosofe, Ketu , residential area, 10 m, 6.591N, 3.402E, v.2020 GoogleMaps ; • Lagos, Badagry , grassland/cassava/coconut, 10 m, 6.427N, 2.839E, iv.2019, (leg. B.O. Jimoh) GoogleMaps .

Although native to India and tropical Asia, Tetramorium lanuginosum is widespread in the tropical and subtropical parts of the world ( WETTERER, 2010), except in the Afrotropical region, where it has been reported just from Sierra Leone and Ghana, but its status appears as “dubious” in Antmaps ( GUENARD et al., 2017). This is the first record for Nigeria, confirming its presence in West Africa.
