Malawidopsis spec. A gen. et sp. nov.

Abbreviated description: elongated Cp, with rounded dorsal and sinuous ventral margin, anterior margin slightly rounded and caudal margin bluntly pointed in lateral view. RV overlapping LV along all sides, but less so than in most other species of the genus. In dorsal view, greatest width situated slightly behind the middle. External valve surface smooth, set with few setae.

Measurements: length of female = 457–475 µm.

Locality: Metangula , Mozambique at 7 m depth (21/3/1999) .
