Asexual unpigmented specimens of presumed Phagocata sp. from three populations were collected from the Monte Majore Cave (northwestern Sardinia), Elighe Mannu spring in the Asinara Island National Park (northwestern Sardinia) and from an unnamed spring at Alà dei Sardi locality (northeastern Sardinia). However, absence of sexually fully developed individuals prevented a detailed assessment of their taxonomic status on morphological basis ( Stocchino et al., 2013c) ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ).
