Before the above-mentioned record of autochthonous Microplaninae in Sardinia only the occurrence of the allochthonous cosmopolitan land planarian species Bipalium kewense had been reported ( Bello et al., 1995). Unfortunately, the precise Sardinian sampling locality of this species is unknown.
