Subfamily Gerbillinae View in CoL
This subfamily includes species of the genera Gerbillus, Meriones , Psammomys , and Sekeetamys . This subfamily constitutes the largest group of rodents occurring in Jordan with a total of 11 species. It includes small to mediumsized rodents adapted for arid and steppe areas. Teeth and soles morphology varies greatly ( Figure 33 View FIGURE 33 ) according to food resources and habitat (Wilson & Reeder, 2005).
