TYPE LOCALITY: Australia, Queensland, Cape York .

DISTRIBUTION: W Malaysia, Sumatra, and the Philippines to Vanuatu (= New Hebrides) and NE Australia.

SYNONYMS: batchianensis, celebensis , labuanensis , misoriensis, schneideri.

COMMENTS: Considered distinct from galeritus (in which it was formerly included) by Jenkins and Hill (1981).
