TYPE LOCALITY: French Guiana, Cayenne .

DISTRIBUTION: Oaxaca ( Mexico) to French Guiana and Brazil; Trinidad.

SYNONYMS: platyceps.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Lampronycteris . Includes platyceps; see Jones and Carter (1976:9). See Medellin et al. (1985, Mammalian Species, 251).
