TYPE LOCALITY: Venezuela, Bolivar, Ciudad Bolivar .

DISTRIBUTION: E Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Guianas, Amazonian Brazil, Peru, Bolivia.

COMMENTS: Specimens of this species have frequently been confused with concava , mordax , and Lionycteris spurrelli ; see Taddei et al. (1978:1, 2) and Koopman (1978b).
