TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Morelos, Tetela del Volcan .
DISTRIBUTION: W Panama; Costa Rica; Honduras, Guatemala; Chiapas, Oaxaca to Nuevo Leon and Sinaloa ( Mexico).
COMMENTS: Subgenus Dermanura . Not a subspecies of cinereus ; see Jones and Carter (1976:27). Revised by Davis (1969). See Webster and Jones (1982b, Mammalian Species, 177).
