TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Veracruz, Mt. Orizaba .

DISTRIBUTION: SE Arizona and W Texas ( USA) to S Mexico, perhaps Guatemala.

STATUS: U.S. ESA - Endangered.

SYNONYMS: longala.

COMMENTS: Does not include yerbabuenae , but see Watkins et al. (1972:16). See Hensley and Wilkins (1988, Mammalian Species, 307).
