TYPE LOCALITY: Colombia, Cundinamarca, Bogota .

DISTRIBUTION: W Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, NW Argentina.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Sturnira . Usually confused with ludovici , but recognized by Handley (1976:25). See also comment under ludovici . The correct name of this species is probably oporaphilum ; see Anderson et al. (1982:6).
