TYPE LOCALITY: Ecuador, Paramba, 1,100 m .
DISTRIBUTION: Panama to Peru and Bolivia.
COMMENTS: Although the named forms umbratus , oratus , and aquilus were regarded as synonyms of dorsalis by Carter and Rouk (1973:976), Handley (1976:28) considered them distinct. See also comments under umbratus .
