TYPE LOCALITY: Jamaica, Kingston .
DISTRIBUTION: Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Providencia Isl ( Colombia).
SYNONYMS: brevimanus , macer .
COMMENTS: Subgenus Chilonatalus . Includes brevimanus and macer ; see Varona (1974:32). Formerly included tumidifrons ; but see Ottenwalder and Genoways (1982) who revised both species. Kerridge and Baker (1978, Mammalian Species, 114) treated only the nominate subspecies.
