TYPE LOCALITY: Peru, Loreto, Santa Cruz (Rio Huallaga) .

DISTRIBUTION: Guianas to Colombia to Peru; N Bolivia; Amazonian Brazil.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Vampyriscus . Formerly included in genus Vampyriscus', see Jones and Carter (1976:25).
