TYPE LOCALITY: South Africa, Cape Province, 200 mi. (322 km) E Capetown .

DISTRIBUTION: Liberia to Ethiopia, south to South Africa.

SYNONYMS: bellula, brunnea , harrisoni , lucia , muscilla .

COMMENTS: Subgenus Kerivoula . Includes harrisoni and muscilla ; see Hill (1977a).
