TYPE SPECIES: Pteropus jubatus Eschscholtz, 1831 View in CoL .

COMMENTS: Very closely related to and probably congeneric with Pteropus (see Musser et al., 1982a).

Musser, G. G., K. F. Koopman, and D. Califia. 1982 a. The Sulawesian Pteropus arquatus and P. argentatus are Acerodon celebensis; the Philippine P. leucotus is an Acerodon. Journal of Mammalogy, 63: 319 - 328.
