TYPE LOCALITY: Philippines .

DISTRIBUTION: Philippines.

SYNONYMS: solifer.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Taphozous . Includes solifer; see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951:105). Probably a subspecies of melanopogon ; see Heaney et al. (1987:43). Corbet and Hill (1980:45) listed solifer as a distinct species without comment.
