TYPE LOCALITY: Equatorial Guinea, Bioko .

DISTRIBUTION: Senegal to Ethiopia and Somalia, south to South Africa and Namibia; Bioko; Zanzibar.

SYNONYMS: angolensis , axillaris, dobsoni , lobatus .

COMMENTS: Includes angolensis , dobsoni , and guineensis , but not brockmani according to Hayman and Hill (1971) and Koopman (1975:388); but see Böhme and Hutterer (1979:306-307) who correctly treated guineensis as a separate species.
