TYPE LOCALITY: " Guinea " .

DISTRIBUTION: Senegal to Kenya, south to Angola and Zaire.

SYNONYMS: ater , bicolor .

COMMENTS: Subgenus Neoromicia . E. bicolor was tentatively included here by Hayman and Hill (1971:43), but may be an older name for Pipistrellus anchietai ; see Koopman (1975:404).
