TYPE LOCALITY: "Southern China " .

DISTRIBUTION: Szechwan and Yunnan to Kiangsu ( China); Hong Kong; N Thailand.

SYNONYMS: luctuosus.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Myotis . Included in species myotis by Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951: 144); but see Lekagul and McNeely (1977:206).
