TYPE LOCALITY: India, Mysore, Bellary Hills .

DISTRIBUTION: NW, S and E India, Pakistan, perhaps Taiwan.

SYNONYMS: caurinus .

COMMENTS: Subgenus Scotozous . Sometimes placed in a separate genus, Scotozous ; see Tate (1942«:259) and Corbet and Hill (1980:68); but also see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951:162-163) and Corbet (1978c:51).
