TYPE LOCALITY: New Guinea, Papua, Milne Bay prov., East Cape .

DISTRIBUTION: SE New Guinea; NE Queensland, Northern Territory, and N Western Australia ( Australia).

COMMENTS: Subgenus Scotorepens . Included in N. balstoni by Koopman (1978a), but see Kitchener and Caputi (1985).
