TYPE LOCALITY: Italy, Pisa .

DISTRIBUTION: Iberia, Morocco, and the Canary ( Spain) and Cape Verde Isis through the Caucasus and Mongolia to Korea, NE China and Japan, southeastward through Iran and Afghanistan to N India and Burma.

SYNONYMS: agilis, aristippe, austenianus , alaschanicus , bonapartei, caucasicus , coreensis, darwini, leucippe, maurus , nigrans, ochromixtus , pallescens, tamerlani, tauricus, velox.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Hypsugo . Includes coreensis, but see Yoshiyuki (1989).
