TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, Sumatra, Padang .

DISTRIBUTION: W Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Bali, adjacent small islands.

SYNONYMS: curtatus, vordermanni .

COMMENTS: Subgenus Pipistrelli. Listed as a subspecies of imbricatus by Medway (1969:39); but see Tate (1942a:249) and Corbet and Hill (1980:67). Includes curtatus and vordermanni , but see Hill (1983).
