TYPE LOCALITY: Madagascar .

DISTRIBUTION: Madagascar.

COMMENTS: Recognized as a subspecies of nigrita (when nigrita was used for the species now called dinganii ) by Hayman and Hill (1971:50). However, C. B. Robbins et al. (1985) considered it specifically distinct from dinganii and borbonicus .
