Comment: Saissetia miranda   was described originally from Mexico; it is now much more widespread, but has not been recorded from Africa ( García Morales et al. 2016). The species is polyphagous, with a wide range of host plants. It has been recorded previously from Iran on Melia azedarach   L. ( Meliaceae   ) ( Moghaddam et al. 2015); here it is recorded as a pest of F. carica   ( Moraceae   ) from Estahban, Fars province, for the first time.
