A Nearctic and Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia : Cricetidae , Muridae and Sciuridae , and Soricomorpha : Soricidae , with a few records from Mammalia (several orders). Ixodes angustus is a sporadic parasite of humans.
