An Australasian species whose adults and nymphs have been found on Diprotodontia : Potoroidae and Tarsipedidae ; adults alone have been collected from Carnivora : Canidae and Felidae , Dasyuromorphia : Myrmecobiidae , Diprotodontia : Macropodidae , Perissodactyla : Equidae , and Rodentia : Muridae ; nymphs alone have been recovered from Diprotodontia : Phalangeridae , and Passeriformes : Meliphagidae . Ixodes myrmecobii is a rare parasite of humans.
