An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Squamata : Varanidae and Pythonidae ; immature stages have also been collected from those hosts; adult ticks alone have been recovered from Crocodilia: Crocodylidae , and Squamata : Elapidae and Iguanidae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Charruau et al. 2017). There are no records of Amblyomma flavomaculatum causing human parasitism.
