An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Rodentia : Sciuridae ; nymphs have been collected from Sciuridae , and Lagomorpha : Leporidae ; and adults alone have been recovered from Carnivora : Felidae and Herpestidae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis calcarata causing human parasitism.
