An Oriental and Palearctic species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Cervidae . All parasitic stages have been collected from Artiodactyla : Cervidae , and Lagomorpha : Leporidae ; adults and immature stages have been recovered from Carnivora : Canidae , Felidae and Viverridae ; adults alone have been taken from Artiodactyla : Bovidae and Suidae (Guglielmone et al. 2014, Hou et al. 2014). There are no records of Haemaphysalis yeni causing human parasitism.

Note: Camicas et al. (1998) treat Haemaphysalis yeni as an Oriental species, but Guglielmone et al. (2014) state that this tick has also been collected in the Palearctic Region, although after 1998.
