Distribution: Rep. S. Africa. Congo, Tanzania, Madagascar, Malawi, Zimbabwe. New for Malawi.

Note. We follow Ustjuzhanin & Kovtunovich (2010) by re-combining madecasseus in Hellinsia . We believe that the morphological features of Paulianilus (external structure of adults, male and female genitalia) are not distinct enough to constitute a separate genus.
