Chaetophloeus sulcatus (Wood) View in CoL : Wood (1982: 356), combination

The holotype of this species in SEMC is a male, not a female as stated by Wood (1956) in his original description. Specimens of C. sulcatus View in CoL previously reported from trans Pecos Texas by Atkinson & Riley (2013) are actually C. flourensiae , described above. All known hosts of C. sulcatus View in CoL are Asteraceae View in CoL , including Flourensia cernua View in CoL , F. resinosa View in CoL , and Gochnatia hylpoleuca . The last host is only found on gravelly hillsides near the border with Mexico, but is widely distributed in northeastern Mexico.
