Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1
Diagnosis. Male. Head wider than long, vertex crest incurved. Median clypeal carina not exceeding anterior imaginary line of eyes. Occipital carina absent. Dorsal pronotal area coriaceous and papillate, lateral margin not carinate. Mesopleural dentate process present. Metapostnotal median carina present; metapostnotal lateral carina weak, converging posteriorly. Forewing with first median cell closed.
Description. Holotype ( Fig. 1a View FIGURE 1 ). Male. Body length: 4.24 mm. Forewing length: 2.48 mm.
Color. Head black; mandible castaneous, teeth yellow; antenna yellow, scape castaneous. Mesosoma black; legs yellow, coxae and femora castaneous; tegula castaneous. Metasoma dark castaneous with posterior half of each segment lighter. Forewing hyaline tinged with yellowish; veins and prestigma yellow; pterostigma light castaneous.
Pubescence. Body with white setae in different density. Antenna with dense appressed setae. Forewing with dense short light castaneous setae.
Head ( Figs 1b, 1c, 1d View FIGURE 1 ). Head wider than long, 0.86 × wide. Mandible with four teeth, all with apex rounded. Median clypeal lobe subtriangular with apex slightly rounded; median clypeal carina exceeding anterior imaginary line of eyes. Antennomeres II–VI in ratio of 101:110:102:105: 107 in length and 1.40, 1.57, 1.32, 1.40, 1.51 × wide respectively; antennal scrobal carina present. Frons coriaceous with punctures separate 0.5–3.0 × its diameter. WF 1.37 × LE. LE 2.97 × DEV. Anterior ocellus passing supra-ocular line 1.53 × DAO; POL 0.98 × AOL; OOL 1.52 × WOT; DPV 1.03 × DAO. Vertex coriaceous with punctures separate 0.5–3.0 × its diameter; vertex crest incurved. Sides of head behind eyes distinctly converging posteriorly. Occipital carina absent. Malar line between mandible and eye present. Gena shiny with sparse punctures; ventral area coriaceous with dense punctures separate at most 1.50 × its diameter.
Mesosoma ( Figs 1e, 1f, 1g View FIGURE 1 ). Dorsal pronotal area coriaceous, weakly papillate, about 0.5 × wide; lateral margin not carinate, posterior margin straight; cervical pronotal area coriaceous and weakly papillate, sloping in lateral view; pronotal flange nearly invisible in dorsal view; lateral pronotal area coriaceous. Mesoscutum coriaceous with shallow punctures, separate 1.0–2.0 × its diameter; parapsidal furrow complete. Mesoscutellum shiny with tiny sparse punctures; mesoscutellar pit oval, each pit distant from another 2.11 × its diameter; mesoscutellar groove deep and divided into two foveae by median longitudinal carina. Metapectal-propodeal disc wider than long; metapostnotal median carina complete, lateral carina straight but weak, converging posteriorly; lateral marginal carina of metapectal-propodeal complex complete; transverse posterior carina of metapectal-propodeal complex almost straight, incurved medially; basal half of metapostnotum with oblique rugulae; dorsal area of propodeum with oblique rugulae, depressing near lateral marginal carina. Propodeal declivity coriaceous. Anterior metapleural area shiny and weakly papillate, metapleural line with three pits; lateral surface of metapectal-propodeal complex coriaceous, upper one third with irregular rugulae. Lateral surface of mesopectus coriaceous with large dense punctures, mesopleural dentate process present, upper mesopleural fovea large, mesopleural pit deep; posterolateral area weakly coriaceous; ventral surface coriaceous, weakly papillate; mesodiscrimen present.
Forewing ( Fig. 1h View FIGURE 1 ). First median cell closed, width of first median cell narrower than M 2 v; Rs 2 v 2.07 × M 2 v; 2r-rs&Rs 2 v slightly arched.
Metasoma ( Figs 1i, 1j, 1k View FIGURE 1 ). Abdominal terga shiny with sparse tiny punctures; longitudinal sulcus of second abdominal tergum extending to half of second abdominal tergum and fovea-like basally. Abdominal sterna shiny with tiny punctures; second abdominal sternum with longitudinal carina; third abdominal sternum papillate; fifth abdominal sternum with pair of tufted setae; posterior margin of hypopygium medially invaginated, with pair of median as well as pair of lateral lobes ( Fig. 1i View FIGURE 1 ). Genitalia ( Figs 1j, 1k View FIGURE 1 ): paramere evenly narrow with rounded apex, dorsal surface with several long setae; digitus with pointed apex, margin with long setae in ventral view; cuspis simple with almost straight apex (fig. 1j); aedeagus bottle-shaped.
FEMALE unknown.
Type material. Holotype ♂ ( IZCAS), China, Yunnan Province, Bannahe Reserve, Jinghongmeigong Villa , 22˚1ˊ1˝N, 100˚48ˊ23˝E, 19.v.2008, A. Weigel, No. IZO(E)2059137.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Etymology. The specific name “ angustus ” (narrow) refers to the short distance between posterolateral corners of head in frontal view.
Comments. This species is similar to O. ovatus Xu & He, 2006 by forewing with first median cell closed and vertex crest incurved ( Fig. 1b View FIGURE 1 ). However, O. angustus sp. nov. can be distinguished by having sides of head behind eyes converging posteriorly behind eyes; DPV 1.03 × DAO and lateral margin of dorsal pronotal area not carinate, whereas O. ovatus having sides of head behind eyes almost parallel, DPV 1.74 × DAO and lateral margin of dorsal pronotal area carinate.
