D i s t r i b u t i o n i n I r a n: Isfahan ( SOBHANI et al. 2012), Iran (no locality cited) ( Shenefelt 1973 as Phanerotoma hispanica var. desertorum HEDWIG 1957 ; BEHDAD 1991, MODARRES AWAL 1997, VAN ACHTERBERG 1990 as P. ocularis KOHL 1906 ).
D i s t r i b u t i o n o u t s i d e I r a n: Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Nigeria, Oceanic regions, S.W. Africa, Saudi Arabia, Socotra, Somalia, Tanzania, Togo ( SHENEFELT 1973; VAN ACHTERBERG 1990; AYDO DU & BEYARSLAN 2009).
H o s t r e c o r d: VAN ACHTERBERG (1990) reported four pyralid and one gelechiid species ( Lepidoptera ) as the hosts of P. leucobasis (as Ph. ocularis ). On the other hand AYDO DU & BEYARSLAN (2009) reported Gelechiidae and Noctuidae as the hosts of this species. It was reported as larval parasitoid of Batrachedra amydraula ( Lepidoptera :
Cosmopteritidae) ( BEHDAD 1991; MODARRES AWAL 1997 as P. ocularis KOHL 1906 ), Plodia interpunctella ( MODARRES AWAL 1997) , Ectomyelois ceratoniae ZELLER ( Lepidoptera : Pyralidae ) ( SOBHANI et al. 2012).
