Description. Male. Body oval, slightly convex above, shining, closely covered with yellowish-white short setae throughout. Color of body mostly brown, but mouth parts, antennae and legs paler.

Head moderate in size, slightly convex dorsally, strongly punctate; clypeus long, expanded antero-laterally, anterior margin shallowly concave. Eyes moderate in size, prominent; the distance between eyes 1.7 times the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 A) slender, short, reaching about proximal 1/6 of elytra; approximate ratio of each antennal segment (n = 1) as 1.7: 1.6: 1.0: 1.7: 1.6: 1.7: 1.6: 1.6: 1.4: 1.5: 1.8. Pronotum slightly convex above, punctate as head; antero-lateral corners rectangular, projecting anteriorly; front and lateral margins gently arcuate; postero-lateral corners about 120º; posterior margin gently bisinuate; PW/PL 2.33–2.86 (2.59). Scutellum moderate in size, an equilateral-triangule, punctate as head. Elytra oval, widest at the middle, punctate as pronotum; shoulders slightly elevated; EL/EW 1.31–1.53 (1.39); EL/PL 4.25–5.50 (4.86); EW/PW 1.22–1.47 (1.35); TL/EW 1.55–1.85 (1.68). Hind coxal plates subquadrate, distinctly projecting along postero-lateral corners, posterior margins concave. Legs relatively long. Hind tibial spurs relatively short, curved outward at apices, closely covered with minute setae; dorsal spurs about 2.3X length of ventral spurs, about 0.8X length of hind tarsal segment I.

Caudal margin of sternite VII ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A) concave. Tergite VIII ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 B) moderately sclerotized, trapezoidal, bearing short spines along apical margin; tergite IX ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C) lightly sclerotized, with long apodemes. Tegmen ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 D) large, moderately sclerotized, front margin concave; parameres obtuse at apices, closely punctate, lateral margin projecting triangularly. Penis ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E) moderately sclerotized, about 1.1X length of tegmen; pala oblong, arcuate in basal margin; parameroids short, almost straight, rather pointed apically; trigonium simply projecting, shorter than parameroids.

Female. Sexual dimorphism indistinct. Approximate ratio of each antennal segment (n = 1) as 1.8: 1.0: 1.1: 1.5: 1.5: 1.4: 1.5: 1.3: 1.3: 1.3: 1.4. PW/PL 2.34–2.76 (2.62); EL/EW 1.35–1.40 (1.38); EL/PL 4.76–5.36 (5.14); EW/PW 1.38–1.47 (1.43); TL/EW 1.61–1.68 (1.64).

Caudal margin of sternite VII ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 F) shallowly concave. Tergite VIII lightly sclerotized, trapezoidal, with long apodemes; sternite VIII lightly sclerotized, U-shaped, bearing short setae along apical part. Prehensor ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 G) as shown in figure; basal sclerite bicornute.

Measurements. Male (n = 12): TL 3.13–3.90 (3.41) mm; PW 1.35–1.68 (1.51) mm; PL 0.50–0.70 (0.58) mm; EL 2.55–3.20 (2.82) mm; EW 1.80–2.35 (2.03) mm.

Female (n = 5): TL 3.33–3.70 (3.52) mm; PW 1.45–1.58 (1.50) mm; PL 0.55–0.62 (0.57) mm; EL 2.78–3.10 (2.95) mm; EW 2.00–2.30 (2.14) mm.

Distribution. Micronesia (Yap Is., Chuuk state: Weno, Fefan and Moen Isls.), Guam.

Remarks. This species is closely related to Scirtes floresianus Champion, 1918 known from Indonesia ( Flores Is.), and differs from it by the lacking thumb-like projections along the parameres of the tegmen, and the short parameroids of the penis.

Etymology. The species is named after the type locality.
