Lectotype (Reveal in Turland & Jarvis in Taxon 46: 466. 1997): Herb. Hermann 4: 20, No. 151 (BM-000628088) .

Current name: Senna auriculata (L.) Roxb. View in CoL ( Fabaceae : Caesalpinioideae ).

Note: De Wit (in Webbia 11: 235. 1956) designated a neotype, overlooking that Hermann material (BM) was original material for the name. Brenan (in Milne-Redhead & Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Leguminosae 2: 76 (1967) and Rudd (in Dassanayake & Fosberg, Revised Handb. Fl. Ceylon 7: 79. 1991) treated the Hermann material (distributed over three pages in two volumes) as syntypes, and Reveal subsequently designated one of them as lectotype.
