Paraleptomenes communis Giordani Soika 1994: 124 View in CoL (key), 129, ♀, ♂, “ Giava: Pasoeroean” (Holotype ♀, MVEN); also from numerous other localities; India (Kerala); Thailand; Malaysia; Singapore; Bali; Nugroho et. al. 2011: 106 (checklist).

Diagnosis. Female. Transverse groove on T1 preapically not as broad and deep as that of P. rufoniger ; clypeus of female without large punctures; punctation of T2 not as coarse as that of P. humbertianus , punctures are smaller than those of pronotum or mesoscutum; T2 normal, without hump; scutellum convex; metanotum oblique; mesepisternum almost entirely punctate; base of S2 moderately convex. Male. Clypeus about as long as wide, broadly and shallowly emarginate at apex, apical teeth distant from each other about 1/3 of the maximum width of clypeus, its surface almost regularly and moderately convex with only fine micropunctures; last antennal article small, slender, finger-like and almost straight, almost reaches the base of 11th article; other characters are almost same as that of female.

Colour. Female. Body black with yellow markings as follows: base of mandibles, spots on each side of clypeus at base, vertical spot above clypeus in interantennal space, at emargination of eyes, a line behind eyes at tempora, ventral side of scape, two large spots on dorsal side of pronotum (usually coalesced), tegula (except brownish yellow at middle), parategula, band on metanotum, spot on mesepisternum, transverse regular band on apical margin of T1, T2 & S2. Wings slightly infuscate. Male. Similar to female except clypeus entirely yellow.

Size (H+M+T1+T2). Female and male. 7–7.5 mm.

Material examined. Paratype: MALAYSIA. Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, 1♀, viii.1924, Coll. H.M. Pendlebury. Paratype: INDONESIA. Buitenzorg, 1♂, ii.1932, Coll. J. van der Vecht. SINGAPORE. Pulau Ubin, 01°24’07”N 103°58’06”E, 14 m, 2♀, 28.vi.2009, Coll. J. M. Carpenter et al. [all AMNH].

Distribution. India (Kerala), Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia (Java, Bali).
