Neotype (Kit Tan in Davis, Fl. Turkey 8: 553. 1984): Herb. Tournefort No. 283 ( P)  .

Current name: Dioscorea communis (L.) Caddick & Wilkin  ( Dioscoreaceae  ).

Note: Kit Tan cited Herb. Tournefort No. 283 ( P) as an isotype. Although this collection was not studied by Linnaeus, in the absence of any original material for the name, Kit Tan’s statement is accepted as a neotypification (Art. 9.8).
