Distribution in the US and Canada. MB, ME, MN, NH, NY, ON, QC, NB ( Bousquet et al. 2013; Chandler 2001; Webster 2016; Wilson et al. 2004).

Remarks. Palearctic. Adventive in North America. Intentionally introduced from Germany and first released in New York and Minnesota in 1994 for the biological control of purple loosestrife ( Lythrum salicaria L.; Lythraceae ) ( Wilson et al. 2004). The above distribution represents published records; however, the actual distribution is likely wider.
