Goeldia patellaris ( Simon, 1892) View in CoL

( Figs 19 View FIGURE 19 ; 27 View FIGURE 27 )

Amaurobius patellaris Simon, 1892: 434 , pl. 9, fig. 8 (syntypes 2♂ and 18♀ from Venezuela (10°30’00”N 66°56’00”W), MNHN 293 View Materials , examined).

Amaurobius arnozoi Mello-Leitão, 1924: 276 (holotype ♀ from Alto Juruá (8°46’45”S 72°7’5”W), Acre, Brazil, deposited at MNRJ, not found, lost before fire 2018); Bonnet 1955: 275; Silva-Moreira et al. 2010: 8; World Spider Catalog 2023. Syn. nov.

Goeldia patellaris View in CoL : Lehtinen 1967: 236 (erroneously placed G. patellaris View in CoL as synonym to G. obscura Keyserling, 1891 View in CoL ).

Goeldia arnozoi View in CoL : Lehtinen 1967: 236.

Remarks. According to specimens examined, original description and drawing presented by Simon (1892: pl. 9, fig. 8) G. patellaris presents a patellar apophysis similar to the one found on specimens from Venezuela. Lehtinen (1967) erroneously placed a specimen from Chile as part of the syntypes series of G. patellaris and used this specimen to justify the use of G. patellaris as a replacement name to G. obscura Keyserling, 1891 . We examined specimens from the type locality of G. arnozoi and concluded that this species is conspecific with G. patellaris .

Additional Material Examined. BRAZIL. Acre. Senador Guiomard, Reserva Extrativista de Catuaba (10°08'S 67°43'W), 13♂, 1♀, 2002, E.F. Morato coll. ( IBSP 84577–84590 View Materials ) GoogleMaps . Bahia. Salvador , Bahia de Aratu (12°47’32.8”S 38°28’15.3”W), 1♂, 2007–2008, K. Benati coll. Diagnosis. Goeldia patellaris differs from the other species of the genus by the long and pointed patellar apophysis ( Fig. 19B–D View FIGURE 19 ) and tegular process with enlarged base and apex pointed and curved in the male palp ( Fig. 19A‒B, D View FIGURE 19 ); and female epigynum with posterior edge straight ( Fig. 19E View FIGURE 19 ) and copulatory ducts with apex retrolaterally projected ( Fig. 19F View FIGURE 19 ).
