Type Locality: Ecuador, "la vallée de Lloa, sur le versant occidental de la Cordillière du Pichincha " (Pichincha, Pichincha Mtns, Lloa valley).

Vernacular Names: Ecuador Red Brocket.

Distribution: Ecuador and S Columbia.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Bourcier and Pucheran were cited as the authors in the original publication, but Pucheran provided the description and is the sole author; Bourcier collected the syntypes.
