Diagnosis. Antoniejanse griseoptera externally resembles A. reducta , but differs in less distinct tornal spot and fold distinctly mottled with black. Additionally, in A. griseoptera segment 3 of labial palpus has same length as segment 2 (in A. reducta segment 3 of labial palpus is 1/2 length of segment 2). Male genitalia of A. griseoptera can be recognized by very slender glandiductors inflated at base that are unique in Antoniejanse (not inflated and comparatively broad in other species). As another specific character, A. griseoptera has hair-like, long coremata, extending as same length of tergum VIII ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 19–22 ) (in other species of this genus, coremata are either shorter than tergum VIII, or longer but as broadened scales). In female genitalia of A. griseoptera , 10 thorn-shaped signa gathered in transverse ring are characteristic (signa in other species of the genus differ in shape).

Redescription ( Figs 1–4 View FIGURES 1–10 ). Wingspan 9–10 mm. Head off-white to pale white; labial palpus recurved, segment 2 brown with white medial and apical belts, segment 3 slightly shorter than segment 2, white with brown medial and apical rings; scape light-brown mixed with white; flagellum light-brown; thorax and tegulae covered with white brown-tipped scales; ground colour of forewing light-grey with light-brown suffusion, its costal margin with three diffuse brown streaks, fold distinctly mottled with black, black streak in middle of cell, indistinct tornal spot on 2/3 of dorsal margin; fringes white brown-tipped; hindwing and fringes light grey.

Male genitalia ( Figs 24, 25 View FIGURES 24–28 ). Uncus subtrapezoid, posteromedial incision slender; gnathos short, ring-shaped; tegumen broad at base, distal part narrow, anteromedial emargination broadly rounded; glandiductor inflated at base, distal part slender; sacculus shorter than juxta process, digitate, apex weakly broadened and rounded; juxta process stout, relatively broad, with outwardly curved rounded apex; phallus gradually curved, apex pointed.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 35 View FIGURES 35–38 ). Papillae anales ovate, covered with hair-like setae; apophyses posteriores long, thin; sternum VIII twice broader than long, weakly sclerotized, unmodified; apophyses anteriores 2/3 length and slightly thicker than apophyses posteriores, broadened at apex; ductus bursae slender, antrum narrow, weakly broadened; corpus bursae ovate, elongate, with gradual transition to ductus bursae, signa as transverse band of five pairs of thorn-shaped connected at base scelerites.

Biology. Larval stages and hostplant unknown. Adults have been collected in July, August and December.

Distribution. South Africa: Gauteng and Limpopo Provinces.
