Type material. Holotype. China: Male, Yunnan, Jinping, Mengla , 385m, V-01-2013, Ma Libin coll. Paratype. China: Male, Yunnan, Honghe , V-09-2013, Ma Libin coll. 2 females , Yunnan, Honghe , V-09-2013, Ma Libin coll.
Measurements. Male (n=2): BL 12.72±0.98, HL 2.22±0.15, HW 3.53±0.42, PL 1.94±0.22, PW 3.60±0.02, FWL 7.55±1.00, MTL 2.83±0.42, HFL 7.46±0.71; female (n=1): BL 10.71, HL 2.25, HW 3.24, PL 2.21, PW 3.51, FWL 7.17, MTL 2.81, HFL 7.56, OL 6.14.
Etymology. The specific epithet ‘stultus’ refers to the former name of ‘agitatus’. We made some relationship between these close species.
Diagnosis. Male. Body small and narrowed. Head longer than pronotum. Vertex rounded and convex. Feebly wrinkled under compound eyes and antennal rocket. Antennal scape broader than the half the width of frons. Clypeus reduced, top portion relative short and narrow, and lower portion somewhat angular. Distal portion of maxillary palpus not longer than length of proximal three combined; distal section of labial palpi longer than total length of remainder ones. Pronotum transverse, with lateral margin curved to lateral lobes; anterior margin concave medially, posterior margin slightly medially convex. Tegmen short, not reaching abdominal tip, broad proximally, tapering with apex acute, with 2 oblique veins; mirror quadrangular with rounded corners, almost as long as broad, dividing vein somewhat rounded, dividing mirror as former parts larger than the hind; apical field not nearly as long as mirror. Fore tibia without internal tympanum, but the area usually occupied by the tympanum bearing a long, nar- row and irregular-shaped pit. Genitalia: Middle lobe of epiphallus similar to that of V. agitatus, the notch between the two processes much broader and rounded; apex of the two processes obliquely truncate with arch-like margin; ventral portion of middle lobe almost without vertical processes, bearing only a small feeble denticle; ectoparamere nearly straight, expanded proximally, but with a faint denticle instead of a branch. Coloration: Dorsally viewed, head and pronotum uniformly colored blackish brown. Ventral portion of body and femora light yellow. Tegmina transparent dark brown. Female. Body dark brown dorsally, light yellowish ventrally. Ovipositor yellowish brown and bearing a dark brown lateral stripe. Remarks. This species is very similar to V. confinius, but they differ from each other by the structure of the epiphallus; below the middle lobe of epiphallus of V. confinius, there are vertical processes. These are absent in the new species. Proximal portions of the ectoparamere of both of these two species are expanded with the inner margin of V. confinius rounded while the new species is armed with obtuse angle (faint denticle).
