Type material.

Nevill (1878) reported he was able to examine more than 70 shells (syntypes) of this variety collected in Northern India. Ten of these specimens are kept now in ZMB (No. 27487). The largest of these shells is 18.0 height. The rest of syntypes may be placed in the Zoological Survey of India (where other type materials of Nevill are kept; see Subba Rao 1989).
