Vernacular Names: Sombre Bat.

Synonyms: Eptesicus (Eptesicus) atratus Blyth 1863 .

Distribution: NE India.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Data Deficient.

Discussion: Subgenus Eptesicus . Corbet and Hill (1992) noted that this species is known only from the holotype, but see Agrawal et al. (1992), who reported additional specimens.
