Osmidus guttatus View in CoL was described from Mexico (Baja California Sur), and Casey’s junior synonyms were both described from the USA (Arizona). Currently the species is known from USA (California, Arizona, Nevada) and Mexico (Baja California Sur, Sonora, Oaxaca). The Mexican state of the type locality of O. guttatus View in CoL has been incorrectly registered as Baja California. However, the type locality, Cape San Lucas, is in Baja California Sur.
