Type locality. USA ( Californica , Fresno County).

Type material. USNM, USA.

Records from Vietnam. Widely found in central and north Vietnam ( Thai 2000b).

Distribution. Pan-tropical, especially if all the reports of various parthenogenetic morphs are included, less frequently found in temperate regions ( Blakemore 2002).

Vietnamese name. Giun ocnero phưƠng tây.

Remarks. The species probably originates from the neotropical regions ( Gates 1972). In Vietnam, it is usually found in wet soils ( Thai 2000b).
