Type locality. Vietnam (Ninh Binh: Cuc Phuong ).

Type material. ZMUM (W.245), Russia.

Examined material. 2 A (SORC-V.021.01) maize field, Moc Chau , Son La, 13/05/1991, coll. Do Van Nhuong .

Distribution. Only known from Vietnam.

Vietnamese name. Giun nhú đực hình chuông.

Remarks. Thai (1983) proposed a new subgenus Terrata of the genus Pheretima , and placed the species under the new subgenus. Blakemore (2007a, 2008b) considered it as " species inquirenda ". Material was re-examined and absence of male copulatory pouches and hence placement of the species in Amynthas is confirmed here.
