Amynthas breviclitellatus ( Do & Tran, 1995)

Pheretima breviclitellata Do & Tran, 1995 (in: Do et al. 1995): 92, fig. 2B; Thai 2000a: 308. Amynthas ? breviclitellatus— Blakemore 2007a: 16; Blakemore 2008b.

Type locality. Vietnam (Nghe An: Que Phong ).

Type material. SORC, Vietnam.

Examined material. 1 C (SORC-HV.020), and 5 C, 4 A (SORC-PV.020.01) bamboo forest, Hiep Cat, Que Phong , Nghe An, 22/12/1987, coll. Tran Ba Cu .

Records from Vietnam. Nghe An (Que Phong) ( Do et al. 1995).

Distribution. Only known from Vietnam.

Remarks. The species is fairly similar to Amynthas polychaetiferus (Thai, 1984) , but distinguished by having two pairs of spermathecal pores, a clitellum from xiv–3/4xvi, and genital markings in spermathecal and male region. Material was re-examined and absence of male copulatory pouches and hence placement of the species in Amynthas is confirmed here.
